Bulgaria is Europe’s classic budget ski destination. Lift passes, lessons, rental and food cost a fraction of Alpine prices, and ski schools are experienced with international beginners. Resorts are smaller, but for first-timers that’s rarely a problem.

Bulgaria joined the euro in 2026, making prices easy to compare.

Beginner verdict: Excellent value for beginners.
